Avocado Smoothie

Avocado and Banana Smoothie by Isn't that Sew
Avocado Smoothie. Believe it or not, I’ve never had one. I know! Hard to believe coming from a girl who drinks a smoothie most days of the work week. So, when my husband surprised me Friday afternoon with a new Ninja Blender ,I decided I must immediately make myself a avocado smoothie! This is what I did…
Avocado and Banana Smoothie
1 Frozen Banana
1 cup raw Spinach
1 whole Avocado
1/4 cup orange juice
1-2 tbsp. Honey
Ice
Simply Blend and Enjoy. -Ruth-

  1. It does indeed. I don’t think I would like it if it didn’t have the honey, banana, and juice. I mean, I love guacamole, but I don’t think it would be good to drink an unsweetened version of an avocado smoothie…YUCK!

  2. WOW! i havent had an avocado smoothie either, and i also blend mostly everyday lol. I NEED TO TRY IT! looks delicious! 🙂

  3. What’s wrong with us! It’s a great way to get your healthy fats for the day! (Which is something I struggle with) I’ve always loved to add spinach…but woah, avocado really ramps it up!!!

  4. Yummy! This looks really good. I want to start drinking more smoothies. And what a sweet husband for surprising you!

  5. This looks so good! Avocado and honey is delicious together – I accidentally discovered that while experimenting with ingredients for a homemade hair + face mask…that I also now use as a salad dressing 🙂 Of course, I probably would have gone lighter on the mayo in the first batch if I knew I was going to be eating it…lol!

I’ll give this a try! I think I may actually have all these ingredients right now!

  6. That is to funny, accidentally discovering a new salad dressing while experimenting with a hair/face mask!!!! Avocado and honey salad dressing sound so good! Is it pureed?

  7. Actually, it’s made with avocado oil which has a really strong avocado flavor- I just couldn’t get over putting something that looks like guacamole on my face…so I came up with this: http://bespangledjewelry.blogspot.com/2013/06/diy-ultra-moisturizing-hair-and-face.html

It’s SO tasty but like I said, lots of mayo. As is, I’ve eaten it on an avocado half – just a dollop in the middle, or on sandwiches. For a more dressing-y version I use way less mayo so it’s more runny, or sometimes just leave it out and maybe add some vinegar instead. I also add black pepper.

I am planning to do a post with the dressing recipe soon 🙂
