Isn’t this skirt darling? And how ’bout that owl? I found this cute tutorial while browsing Pinterest. The scallops and owl caught my eye immediately!

A tutorial for the skirt is available at Prudent Baby. Something I didn’t know existed until reading her post is glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread. She used it on the owl. I can see the little girl running in the closet several times a day to see it glow.

The owl pattern is from another site I like to visit, Urban Threads. Many of their designs have an edgy and modern take on embroidery, but they do have some cute old-fashioned ones, such as these kitchen engravings and this cute tea cup.

Don’t have an embroidery machine? No worries, all of their designs come in either machine embroidery files or hand embroidery designs.

Dresses

If you prefer dresses over skirts, check out this DIY halter dress. It has a ’70s vibe, which is definitely making a comeback!
