Buying Sewing Machine Feet

First, not all of the feet I feature will be available for every machine but they should be for most home sewing machines. Industrial machines are another thing entirely and will not be covered. Most sewing machine manuals have a section that includes the feet that come with the machine and additional ones that can be purchased. You can also look on your sewing machine manufactures website for a list of available feet. Keep in mind however that there are a lot of after-market brands that will work with our machine and may not be listed by the manufacturer. Sewing machine feet can be purchased from most sewing machine dealers, hobby and craft shops, and of course Amazon!

Know What Type of Shank your Sewing Machine Has

In order to make sure you purchase the correct sewing machine feet, you will need to know what type of shank your sewing machine has. The three main types of shanks are low shank, high shank, and slant shank. Low shank adapters can be purchased.
